The 2019 school football schedule kicks off on Saturday with two games on the program. It is a showdown in the first game, as we receive a competition game right off the bat. The Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes will meet at Camping World Stadium from Orlando to start the year. Arizona and Hawaii are miles and miles off on Oahu at Aloha Stadium. It isn’t a vacation for the Wildcats, they’re there to get a company meeting the Rainbow Warriors of Hawaii.
Kevin Sumlin goes with heavier expectations on his back in to his second season in Arizona. Together with Sumlin, it isn’t enjoy the cabinet had been vacant for him when he arrived to Arizona. Rich Rod was terminated because of obvious inappropriate conduct with staffers of this soccer program.
There was gift for Sumlin when he got there. Most importantly, Sumlin needed a quarterback that was coming off a monster year. Khalil Tate broke out and created a name for himself with his electrical speed 2017. However, the transition to some other crime was difficult for company and Tate. Nothing looked simple for the offense and Tate last season. It was evident that Sumlin wanted to keep him in the pocket more frequently and it had been met with mixed reviews.
They had to struggle for yardage as it looked so simple earlier. Also hampering Tate could have been an injury that he suffered in 2017. It wasn’t mentioned but that might have been holding him. We haven’t seen since getting hurt him perform quickly. Ultimately, Arizona moved 5-7 and failed to reach a bowl game. Tate will be back in the saddle because of his senior year with more Heisman hype.
Hawaii did a lot right in 2018. They finished with a respectable record of 8-6. The start of the season was an impressive show, as they started darts were throwing to his or her intentions. McDonald is back to Hawaii, as is pretty much everyone else about the 2018 roster. Bowl win and an record would be welcome, although the Rainbow Warriors are not Mountain West contenders yet. With loads of talent coming, expectations follow that also. Maybe not nobody cares about Hawaii football or what they really do this season, but a committed fanbase is in Hawaii who adore Rainbow Warrior football. They want something to observe, and it may be a stepping stone for them, if they didn’t win a bowl season.
McDonald proved last season they were could be no quarterback competition this spring. Hawaii remains secured in using McDonald while a lot of schools have uncertainty about their newcomer in late August.
McDonald came through early season. He travelled over 500 yards in his introduction from the 2018 opener against Colorado State. With 0 interceptions, McDonald awakened 15 touchdown passes in the season’s initial four weeks. UNLV was the only game in the regular season that he threw for interceptions in a game.
The game I was most impressed by a 31-30 win in overtime against a San Diego State defense. McDonald threw for 452 yards with 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. On the summer, he totalled 40 touchdowns with 10 interceptions.
Together with their starting QB, Hawaii have 17 other players returning to perform 2019. Be aware that’s more than any other group in the Mountain West. Is Jahlani Taivai at linebacker, but besides that, the Rainbow Warriors are all well prepared pretty well all around the field.
Arizona let 32.6 points a game defensively, which must improve drastically in 2019. There is a talent there with this matchup, but little depth behind some standouts. Expect the ball to maneuver with a skilled crime.
The focus of Arizona will be both Khalil Tate and J.J. Taylor from the backfield. Taylor rushed for 1,434 yards and 6 touchdowns to a 5.6-yard average. And while Tate was not successful last year, he passed for 26 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. His completion percentage must enhance. A 56.3 percent completion rate isn’t good enough at the Pac-12.
Hawaii will fight sometimes with Taylor and Tate. Defending the air and ground with those two can be tricky, especially if Tate is feeling 100 percent. But, Hawaii have had months to prepare for them and they grab Arizona within their backyard playing at a different time zone.
To get a season opener, playing in Hawaii might be a small diversion. 11 points will be much to lay against an expert Hawaii group on the street, although arizona triumph, and probably go through the motions. Since they seldom get on a time slot like this with no matches hawaii should be the more amped up team with this matchup. The things with the home squad appears like the drama.
