American fighter Eric Molina has been given an additional ban for breaching the conditions of the back suspension.
After testing positive for a banned substance after his fight with Anthony Joshua the 36-year-old was banned.
During his ban that he had six sparring sessions using Joseph Parker, breaching UK Anti-Doping (Ukad) principles.
This means Molina cannot return to boxing before midnight on 27 November.
Anti-doping rules state that a banned athlete”may not participate in any capacity or assist any athlete engaging in any capacity,” throughout the period of their suspension.
Ukad states it obtained information demonstrating that Molina sparred in prep for the New Zealander’s struggle against Dillian Whyte on 28 July 2018.
Ukad’s chief executive order, Nicole Sapstead, stated:”Anyone issued with a ban from sport after an anti-doping rule violation, if or not a athlete or athlete support person, has a duty to ensure they don’t breach the terms of the suspension.
“This is not the first time we have seen a violation in recent months and anybody found to have breached the conditions and conditions of their ban risks being suspended out of sport for a prolonged period of time.”
Molina tested positive for illegal substance dexamethasone following his third-round stoppage by Joshua at Manchester at December 2016.
Dexamethasone is not a medication but is used to treat conditions including asthma and cancer. Because it can give an unfair advantage to endurance 11, It’s prohibited during competition.
Molina did not deny taking the substance or contest the anti-doping rule violation, but didn’t issue the amount of the ban.
Ukad said in the time of issuing the first ban that Molina’s actions weren’t intentional and that he”did not seem to deceive”.
